Travels with Bonnie: A Ride Out to The Pinnacle

Baldwin Mills Quebec, 25 July 2020

This was a very pleasant ride - a figure-eight route out to Baldwin Mills with a side trip to Ways Mills. Gorgeous automn countryside views everywhere capped by the always impressive silhouette of The Pinnacle.

Many years ago, departed friend and partner in carpentry Dave and I built a house on the shore of Lac Lyster for Eunice Baldwin. We began in late August and continued through the end of January. At quitting time each day I took a swim from the rocky beach in front of the house. Lac Lyster, with its high elevation is known as a cold lake, and sometime in late fall it became too frigid for me.

It was there at Eunice's that Dave and I were busted on Christmas Eve by an OCQ inspector. Actually a drunk OCQ inspector reeking of alcohol. I still think we should have hit him over the head with a rock and tossed him in the Lake! But then, I'd never throw garbage in a lake.
