Travels with Bonnie: Texas Falls Vermont

October 19, 2015

Please enjoy these photos of Texas Falls, and go visit them if you're ever in their neighborhood. You'll marvel at how water has sculpted a series of masterpieces in rock. Quite a unique place and definitely worth a stop in anyone's itinerary.

Had a bit of a scare as I was leaving Texas Falls. I had coasted down the road beside the brook and when I saw the Tee in the road ahead I switched on the ignition, pulled the gearshift up into fourth and popped the clutch. Doing around 30 or 35 mph.

Bonnie gave out a terrific back-fire and the ignition immediately went dead. Looking under the seat I found a blown fuse.

Before leaving home I had very specifically taken out a plastic bag of three or four fuses and set them on the workbench to bring along with me. And that's just where they were - on the workbench at the Bonnie Castle!.

Fortunately, when I made my own custom wiring loom I had included fuses in both battery leads and all I had to do was take apart the positive fuse cartridge and fix the end to ground. The negative terminal was still fused. Bonnie started right up and made it home with no problem. But ever since I've been reticent to jump start over five or ten miles an hour.
