Wanted straight chimney run for maximum ease in cleaning, so went to the extra work of cutting through the ridge board and other nearby framing.

First time I use a roofing membrane like this. Extremely impervious to moisture and handles well. Nice stuff to work with compared with tar paper, and its anti-corrosive properties are supposed to protect the metal roofing
