Dixwell Notch Sun/Cloud/Mild One-hundred and forty miles. Met Rich at Derby Corner at 10:30 for our planned ride to Dixwell Notch. It was sunny and the day was already warming up, with temperatures headed into the 70's. Clouds came into view over the mountains to our east as we crossed Columbia Bridge into New Hampshire, and the sky turned steadily darker as we made our way from Colebrook towards Dixwell Notch. By the time we arrived in Errol the sky was completely overcast and for a few seconds I even felt some light mist falling. After a leisurely lunch break we wandered across the street to L.L.Cote, where I bought a pair of cold weather riding mitts. Even in the relative coolness of the mountains they were way too warm to wear on the way home. By the time we left Errol the sun was beginning to return and the clearing trend continued as we made our way back home. |
